A Theoben Scirroco Grand Prix in a beautful walnut thumbhole stock. Note the safety in front of the trigger guard. I believe this is the ‘Pre- HE’ version.
The Theoben system is an approach to replace coil springs in air rifles.
The pre HE system is much like a hollow telescope, the seals running down the inside of the bore of the piston. The stored pressure of air / nitrogen is 300 psi, and when cocked this multiplies up to around 400 psi, so you can get more performance, but also more cocking effort.
The newer High Efficiency H.E. system changed this ratio, increasing the air pressure to 750 psi.
